Torre Gaia Farm is located in the territory of Dugenta, in the central part of the ancient “Sannio Beneventano”, not far from Benevento, Caserta and Naples. This area has one of the oldest vineyarding and wine-producing traditions in Campania. Particularly, the winery has more than one hundred years of history, and so its activity is founded on a solid experience. It was estabilished at the beginning of ‘900 by Federico Perlingieri and is specialized in the viticultural field. The farm is located on a hillock from where Torre Gaia, an ancient tower, dominates over the 113- hectare estate which swepts from the valley up to the mountains. First among campanian business of the sector for extension, it’s famous for the high quality of the production. Moreover, the farm benefits from an excellent geographical position and so it’s easily reachable. Torre Gaia is considered the “Gate of Sannio on the wine road”, surely the leader of wine business in Benevento area and one of the most important business in Campania. In the last years, the farm has been characterized by an extraordinary development and surely in the future it will still grow up.
Tasting note: In the ancient farm of Torre Gaia, the noble local and native Aglianico grapevine finds its natural habitat. The wine is aged for a year in oak barrels of Slavonia and then honed for three months in bottles, acquiring a unique aromatic balance. The colour is ruby red with hints of violet. The aroma is intense and broad with hints of berries. It is dry, full and balanced or round with hints of violet, raspberry and leather.
Food Pairing: Recommended with pasta with tomato, grilled or roasted red meats, mature cheeses.
